Asma Al Thani (Asma)

About Asma

Asma Al Thani, a trailblazer from Qatar, has distinguished herself in the realms of mountaineering and advocacy. Beginning her mountaineering journey with Kilimanjaro in 2014, Asma has since conquered six of the Seven Summits and eight of the world's 14 highest peaks, including Manaslu without supplemental oxygen.

Notably, she's the first Qatari woman to summit Everest, Lhotse, Manaslu, and Ama Dablam, and has achieved the distinction of being the first Qatari to ski to the North Pole. Honored as "Women of the Year" by Grazia for her outdoor and humanitarian efforts, Asma collaborates with UNHCR to support refugees. Professionally, she serves as the Director of Marketing and International Cooperation at the Qatar Olympic Committee, promoting sports participation and hosting international events in Qatar. Asma's pursuit of the Explorers Grand Slam—reaching both poles and climbing the Seven Summits—mirrors her commitment to inspire and champion equality.

“In life my mission is to inspire and give back – for that reason I am proud to wear kit that serves a purpose; with 5% of all proceeds from Nimsdai going to the Foundation.”
