About Our Founder
Nimsdai ‘Nims’ Purja is the multiple ground breaking mountaineer who spends 11 months of the year on the mountain. Nims is renowned for climbing all 14 of the world’s ‘Death Zone’ peaks over 8,000m in just 6 months and 6 days and leading the first winter ascent of the ‘Savage Mountain’ K2 - a feat he achieved without use of supplementary oxygen.
Leaning on his extraordinary mountaineering achievements, Nims has ventured into the realm of outdoor apparel with his own clothing line, Nimsdai. This initiative reflects his deep understanding of the harsh and demanding conditions faced in high-altitude environments. With the aim of blending functionality with comfort and style, Nims has drawn upon his extensive experience in the world’s highest mountains to design a line that caters to the needs of all; offering unparalleled levels of durability, weather resistance, and innovative features tailored for extreme environments.
From Nimsdai
"I used to spend countless hours visiting various shops, carefully examining gear that I believed would meet my needs. Often, I ended up purchasing what’s so called /advertised high-end equipment, only to discover that it fell short when subjected to extreme conditions. Many people underestimate the critical importance of having top-quality gear in such environments. There have been numerous instances where I was prepared to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars at the moment I truly needed the best equipment, only to realise that being out in the elements meant it was too late for the purchases then".
It is always wiser to invest a little extra in top-tier gear that will not fail you when it matters most. This principle cannot be overstated.
Having completed 48 ascents of 8,000-meter peaks, including two climbs of 14 peaks with and without supplemental oxygen, as well as the Seven Summits and various other summits below 8,000 meters, my passion and ambition to develop the best outdoor clothing continue to drive me forward. Nimsdaistore isn’t just the clothing brand , it’s that mantra that you need at the hours of most extreme environments and when needed the most.
